Background

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Nottingham with a focus on machine learning, deep learning, and data analysis. With a PhD in Computer Science and a first-class degree in Software Systems, I have completed advanced training in machine learning at Imperial College London alongside professional certificates in AI and NLP from Stanford. My work centers on building practical AI systems, from large-scale data pipelines to state-of-the-art models for prediction, classification, and decision support.

My PhD research focused on robust computer vision and 3D reconstruction, delivering new algorithms for multi-view modelling and high-accuracy spatial analysis. I have published in high-impact journals and bring a rigorous, research-driven approach to real-world machine learning problems, including model evaluation, error analysis, and reproducible experimentation.

Currently, I am engaged in multiple AI projects spanning computer vision, time-series analysis, and practical model deployment, including detection and tracking pipelines, image restoration models, and semantic segmentation for automated analysis. Outside of research, I build and ship products end-to-end: EdgeWords is a daily social word puzzle game with real-time leaderboards and cross-platform mobile apps, and The Story Chamber is a curated AI fiction platform using advanced prompt engineering and multi-model orchestration to generate cohesive, voice-driven stories.

My expertise spans Python, C#, PHP, and SQL, alongside deep learning, large-scale data analysis, and advanced computer vision. Through roles at the NHS and Lockwood Publishing, I have consistently delivered data-driven solutions that improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

What Motivates Me

What motivates me most is building intelligent systems that solve real problems and are trusted in everyday use. Throughout my career, I have been driven by the challenge of taking complex ideas, from advanced computer vision and generative models to full production platforms, and turning them into reliable, practical tools.

I am motivated by depth and ownership. I enjoy understanding problems thoroughly, designing robust solutions, and staying with them through research, development, deployment, and iteration. Whether in academic research, healthcare analytics, or independent product development, I am most engaged when I can take responsibility for the full lifecycle of a system and continually improve it.

Purpose also matters strongly to me. I want the work I do to have a genuine impact, to be applied in ways that matter and trusted in real-world settings. Knowing that what I build is genuinely useful, not just technically interesting, is a powerful and lasting motivator. Ultimately, I am driven by the desire to produce work that is rigorous, practical, and built to last.

Beyond the Work

I am thoughtful and quietly observant, an introvert by nature. Being profoundly deaf means small talk does not always go to plan, but it does provide occasional moments of unintended comedy. I have been known to respond to “How was your weekend?” with a confident “Yes, I think it's supposed to rain later.” It certainly keeps meetings interesting.

I am intensely driven and highly independent in how I think. I do not follow the crowd, I am motivated by curiosity, innovation, and finding better ways to do things. If I have to do the same task more than once, I will usually automate it. For me, efficiency is not just about speed; it is about creating space to focus on what really matters.

I combine quiet focus with creative problem-solving, persistence, and a dry sense of humour. Once I am committed to a project, I am all in: I think about it constantly, plan carefully, and stay with it until it is done properly. I may not always be the loudest voice in the room, but I bring consistency, depth, and genuine dedication to everything I take on.
